2507 Super Duplex Stainless Steel Pipe for Offshore Piping in Qatar

Shangyou coordinated a 2507 super duplex pipe requirement for offshore piping where high strength and resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion were important selection factors. The project specification required careful alignment of material grade, manufacturing standard, heat treatment, NDT, corrosion tests and project documentation.

The buyer needed reliable documentation for offshore fabrication. Major risks included incomplete supplementary requirements, detrimental intermetallic phases after improper heat treatment, ambiguous corrosion-test criteria and presenting NACE suitability without matching product form, environment and project specification.

2507 offers stronger chloride resistance than 2205 but remains sensitive to fabrication heat input and phase balance. It should not be claimed as universally suitable for seawater or sour service without engineering review and the applicable NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 requirements.
