Shangyou supplied or proposed 310S stainless steel plate for furnace components exposed to elevated temperature. The review focused on oxidation conditions, design temperature, loading, thermal cycling, dimensions and fabrication route because high-temperature suitability cannot be determined from a nominal maximum-temperature claim alone.

The component required elevated-temperature oxidation resistance and fabricability. Important unknowns included continuous versus intermittent temperature, atmosphere, sulfur or carbon activity, thermal cycling and mechanical load. A simple statement that 310S is “heat resistant” would not be sufficient for design approval.



Record the actual fabricated-part fit, service feedback and delivery status only after customer confirmation.


310S is often chosen for oxidation resistance at elevated temperature, but it is not automatically suitable for carburizing, sulfidizing, molten-salt or reducing atmospheres. Creep strength, thermal fatigue and code requirements must be reviewed by the equipment designer.
Provide temperature range, atmosphere, cycle, load, component drawing, plate dimensions, quantity and inspection needs.
