This requirement called for 904L stainless steel sheet for chemical storage-tank fabrication. The alloy was considered because its high nickel, chromium and molybdenum content can improve performance in selected acidic and chloride environments compared with common 300-series grades. Actual suitability remained dependent on the stored chemical and operating conditions.

| Item | Project Requirement |
|---|---|
| Destination | Indonesia |
| Material | 904L / UNS N08904 / EN 1.4539 |
| Standard | ASTM A240/A240M |
| Surface | 2B or No.1 |
| Processing | Cut-to-size, film or edge preparation as ordered |
| Inspection | MTC 3.1, PMI, dimensions and surface |
| Quantity / Delivery | 145TON/85DAY |
The buyer needed a controlled grade for tank shells and fabricated parts. Risks included substituting visually similar stainless steel, failing to retain traceability after cutting and selecting 904L without fully defining chemical concentration, temperature, aeration and contamination.

Add verified welding/fabrication feedback, document acceptance and arrival condition.

904L is not a universal substitute for nickel alloys. Strong reducing acids, high temperatures, chloride concentration, crevices and oxidizing contaminants can change alloy performance. Corrosion data or specialist review may be required.
Send the chemical, concentration, temperature, tank design code, sheet dimensions, welding process, quantity and required inspection documents.
