Shaanxi Shangyou Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. supplies astm a268 tp439 ferritic stainless heat exchanger tube | s43035 for buyers whose primary search intent is cost-controlled ferritic corrosion-resistant tubing, not generic stainless or nickel-alloy stock. The page should be quoted against the selected standard edition, the equipment or component drawing and the governing design code. Stabilized ferritic stainless tube ordered to ASTM A268/A268M for general corrosion-resisting and elevated-temperature service.
The material decision should start with service conditions. Approximately 17% chromium ferritic stainless stabilized for weldability and resistance to intergranular attack. Compare with TP444 when molybdenum and higher localized-corrosion resistance are needed; compare with TP304L when formability and austenitic fabrication behavior dominate. This comparison belongs in the enquiry stage because a higher alloy name does not automatically deliver the lowest life-cycle risk.
A complete RFQ needs product form, grade/UNS, ordered condition, dimensional basis, tolerances, quantity and inspection level. OD, wall, length, seamless/welded route and end use must be defined. Do not describe the product as seamless unless the PO and MTC confirm it. For pressure-containing products, the material standard controls product quality; it does not replace pressure-design calculations, corrosion allowance or code approval.
Manufacturing and documentation must remain connected. Seamless or welded manufacture within A268 scope, followed by heat treatment, sizing and straightening. The selected route must appear on the quote and certificate. The baseline verification plan is: Standard tests, hydrostatic/NDE as applicable, optional eddy current, weld-seam inspection for welded supply, dimensional and surface checks. Any supplementary requirement—PMI extent, UT class, eddy-current acceptance, corrosion testing, grain size, roughness, cleanliness or third-party inspection—must appear in the PO before production.
Fabrication guidance: Control heat input and shielding; ferritic grain growth and loss of ductility must be considered. Qualify expansion and bending for the selected wall and radius. Selection boundary: TP439 resists chloride stress-corrosion cracking better than common austenitic grades, but its pitting/crevice resistance is lower than TP444 or 316L in many chloride environments. Buyers should provide fluid composition, maximum and minimum temperature, pressure, design life, fabrication route and applicable code so the quotation can separate mandatory requirements from optional controls.
| Material standard | ASTM A268/A268M — confirm the latest contract edition at PO stage |
|---|---|
| Grade / UNS | TP439 / S43035 |
| Product form | Ferritic seamless or welded tube; quote route explicitly |
| Ordered condition | Annealed condition to the ordered specification; fabrication trials may be needed for tight bending or severe expansion. |
| Dimensions | OD, wall, length, seamless/welded route and end use must be defined. Do not describe the product as seamless unless the PO and MTC confirm it. |
| Surface / ends | Annealed and pickled or bright finish where available; appearance is not a substitute for roughness or cleanliness criteria. |
| Manufacturing route | Seamless or welded manufacture within A268 scope, followed by heat treatment, sizing and straightening. The selected route must appear on the quote and certificate. |
| Inspection package | Standard tests, hydrostatic/NDE as applicable, optional eddy current, weld-seam inspection for welded supply, dimensional and surface checks. |
| Marker | Typical / controlled basis | Buyer implication |
|---|---|---|
| Cr | About 17% | General corrosion and oxidation resistance |
| Ti/Nb | Stabilizing additions | Supports weld-zone corrosion resistance |
| Ni | Low | Ferritic structure and lower alloy cost |
Use note: Values above are concise identification/selection markers, not a replacement for the ordered ASTM/AWS chemistry table or the MTC.
Compare with TP444 when molybdenum and higher localized-corrosion resistance are needed; compare with TP304L when formability and austenitic fabrication behavior dominate.
| Do not overclaim: TP439 resists chloride stress-corrosion cracking better than common austenitic grades, but its pitting/crevice resistance is lower than TP444 or 316L in many chloride environments. |
| Send Shaanxi Shangyou Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. your ASTM A268/A268M / TP439 RFQ with dimensions, condition, quantity, inspection level and service data. We will return a specification review, capability confirmation and quotation basis without substituting grade, route or test scope silently. |
