Shaanxi Shangyou Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. coordinates hydrostatic and nondestructive examination for stainless steel pipe when required by the product standard, purchase order or project ITP. The plan identifies the pipe standard and edition, grade, seamless or welded route, dimensions, quantity, test method, coverage, acceptance criteria and report format. Hydrostatic pressure and hold time are calculated or selected from the governing requirement; they are not taken from a generic marketing table. NDT is stated by method and coverage because ultrasonic, eddy-current, radiographic and liquid-penetrant examinations address different conditions and are not equivalent.
Before testing, pipe identity and instrument status are checked. Where the method requires qualified personnel or approved procedures, the applicable records are reviewed. Hydrostatic reports identify the test population, pressure basis, hold duration and result. NDT reports identify the method, technique, coverage, sensitivity or reference standard and acceptance result. Each record is connected to the relevant heat, pipe or batch through the agreed identification system. If customer or third-party witness points apply, the activity follows the notification and release sequence stated in the ITP.
A useful RFQ states the governing pipe standard, grade, size and schedule, manufacturing route, design or service code, required test method, examination coverage, acceptance standard, hydrostatic basis, witness requirement and report language. It should also state whether an alternative NDE method is permitted and whether the tests are mill-performed, supplier-verified or independently witnessed. This level of detail allows Shangyou to quote the correct route and prevents 'NDT included' from concealing a mismatch between the expected test and the actual report.
