Product Description
Stainless Steel Strip Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Strip with Custom Slitting and MTC 3.1

Shaanxi Shangyou Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. supplies stainless steel strip and slit coil for stamping, forming, spring parts, appliance components and general industrial fabrication. Orders can be specified by grade, thickness, slit width, temper or hardness, surface finish, edge condition, coil ID and inspection document instead of relying on a generic “stainless strip” description.

Standards & Material Identification
Parameter Specification / Guidance
Grade / UNS / EN Multiple grades: S30100, S30400, S31603, S43000 and others
Applicable Standards ASTM A240/A240M; ASTM A666/A666M for applicable austenitic cold-worked strip; ASTM A480/A480M general requirements; EN 10088-2; ISO 9445-1/-2 as applicable to product route.
Inspection Documents MTC / EN 10204 3.1 when specified; dimensional, surface and hardness reports; PMI available where technically appropriate.
How to Specify Stainless Steel Strip Correctly

For reliable quotation and production control, specify thickness × width before nominal coil weight. For precision stamped parts, also state thickness tolerance, width tolerance, burr direction or maximum burr, camber/straightness, temper or hardness, surface requirement and coil ID.

Do not select a grade only by “corrosion resistance.” 301 is commonly selected where cold-worked strength and spring behavior are important; 304 is a broad forming and general-purpose grade; 316L is selected for improved resistance in many chloride-containing or chemical environments; 430 is ferritic and is often chosen where magnetic behavior, appliance use or cost-performance are relevant.

Material Selection Boundary

Material selection must be tied to the service environment and fabrication route. 316L improves pitting resistance relative to 304 in many chloride exposures but is not immune to seawater or chloride stress-corrosion cracking. 301 gains high strength through cold work, which reduces formability as temper increases. 430 is not a substitute for 316L in aggressive chloride or chemical service.

Typical Applications
  • Precision stamping and formed components
  • Clips, brackets and clamps
  • Spring parts and elastic components
  • Appliance and automotive components
  • Food and industrial equipment parts where the selected grade is suitable
Processing, Inspection & Packing
Parameter Specification / Guidance
Slitting / Cutting Precision slitting, cut-to-width and rewinding according to grade, gauge and coil configuration.
Edge Processing As-slit, deburred or conditioned edge where the requested dimensions and application allow.
Testing Dimensional inspection, surface inspection, hardness/mechanical checks as specified; PMI or third-party inspection can be arranged where appropriate.
Documentation MTC / EN 10204 3.1 when specified; dimensional, surface and hardness reports; PMI available where technically appropriate.
Packing Moisture-proof paper or film, edge protection, steel strapping and export pallet/wooden case as required. Coil eye orientation and maximum package weight can be agreed before shipment.
Price Basis Price is determined by grade, thickness, width, temper/hardness, surface, tolerance, edge condition, coil configuration, order quantity, inspection and packing requirements, plus current stainless raw-material/alloy costs.
Supply Status Stock, regular production or made-to-order depending on grade, dimensions, temper, finish and inspection requirements.
CTA – Request a Production-Ready Quote

Send grade + thickness × width + quantity + temper/hardness + surface + edge + coil ID. We will confirm the suitable material standard, slitting route, inspection plan and packing configuration before quotation.

FAQ

1. What information is needed for a stainless steel strip RFQ?

Grade, standard, thickness, width, quantity, temper/hardness, surface, edge condition, tolerances, coil ID and required inspection documents.

2. Is stainless steel strip the same as stainless steel coil?

Not always. Strip is generally narrower and may be mill-produced narrow strip or slit from wide coil; the production route affects dimensional standards and edge characteristics.

3. Can you supply custom slit widths?

Yes, custom slitting can be quoted subject to thickness, grade, temper, minimum width and edge requirements.

4. Can tight thickness tolerances be supplied?

Precision tolerances can be discussed, but the achievable value must be confirmed for the exact thickness, width, grade and temper.

5. What surfaces are available?

Common options include 2B, BA and 2D, with additional processed finishes available when technically suitable.

6. Can strip be supplied in hard temper?

For grades and standards that permit cold-worked tempers, hardness or mechanical-property targets can be specified in the purchase order.

7. Do you provide MTC 3.1?

MTC / EN 10204 3.1 can be supplied when specified in the order.

8. Can burr and edge condition be controlled?

Yes. State slit, deburred or conditioned edge and any burr limit or burr direction requirement in the RFQ.

9. How is stainless steel strip packed?

Narrow coils are protected against moisture and edge damage, strapped securely and packed on pallets or in wooden cases as required.

10. How is price calculated?

Price depends on material, dimensions, temper, tolerance, surface, edge processing, coil configuration, quantity, inspection, packaging and current stainless raw-material cost.
